Experimental Music Analysis

Anasheed is a work of vocal music that can be either sung in a cappella or accompanied by percussion instruments like for example, the daf.

This music doesn’t contain lamellophone instruments, strings or wind and brass instruments.

Anasheed music is popular all throughout the Islamic world. The lyrics and materials used in this music usually make reference to Islamic beliefs, religion and current events.

Here’s an example of Anasheed music to have a listen and be positive.

In my opinion, I hardly listen to any type of music like this but it gives many artists/musicians around the world an inspiration for their own music to try something different and bring about a new genre.

Many nasheed artists from this generation use a wide variety of musical instruments in their work. Some new nasheed artists are non-Arabs and sing in different languages like Turkish or English.
